The Right Path

12:58 - 2018/02/09

If all people follow a path and Ali was following another path you follow Ali and leave the others. O Ammar, Ali (a) does not drive you out of the right path. O Ammar obeying Ali is obedience to me and obedience to me is obedience to Allah (SAW).

The Right Path

Alqamah bin Qais and Asvad bin Yazid said: "we came Abu [Aba] Ayyub Ansari [1] and We told him that God Almighty has blessed you to be the host of the Messenger of Allah (S) [2], Then why you went out fighting with Ali bin Abi Talib (a) [3], He (Abu Ayyub Ansari) said: hello and welcome, I swear to you by God The Messenger of Allah was in this house where you are and no one was in the house other than the Messenger of Allah, and Ali who was sitting on his right hand and I was standing in front of him. Then the door knocked and the Messenger of Allah told Anas his servant to open the door, he went and said this is Ammar bin Yaser on the door, Abu Ayyub said: I heard that the messenger of Allah ordered Anas to open the door for Ammar Al Tayeb Al Mutayeb (good and pure) So Anas opened the door and Ammar entered and gave blessings to the Messenger of Allah and the Messenger of Allah replied and said: O, Ammar there will be conflict and opposition between my nation after me until they kill each other . If you see this, you should be with this man pointing to Ali (A) and said if all people follow a path and Ali was following another path you follow Ali and leave the others. O Ammar, Ali (a) does not drive you out of the right path. O Ammar obeying Ali is obedience to me and obedience to me is obedience to Allah (SAW). [4]

1. Khālid b. Zayd b. Kulayb b. al-Najjār (Arabic: خالد بن زید بن کُلَیب بن النجّار Known as Abū Ayyūb al-Anṣārī (Arabic: أبو أيوب الأنصاري) (d. 52/672) was among the companions of the Prophet (s) and Imam Ali (a).

2. What made Abu Ayyub grand in the eyes of Muslims was going of the Prophet (s) to his house upon his arrival to Medina, regardless of others' insistence. Thus, historians have mentioned his name as the host of the Prophet (s). According to al-Baladhuri, the Prophet (s) resided in his house for 7 months, until al-Masjid al-Nabawi and the Prophet's (s) own house were built up.

3. Abu Ayyub participated in all battles Imam Ali (a) engaged in,. Everyone has mentioned extraordinary braveries of Abu Ayyub. In the Battle of Nahrawan, Ali (a) assigned him as the commander of the horsemen and before beginning of the war, sent him to negotiate with and advise Khawarij.
