Why do Some Nations Obey Tyrant Rulers?

11:21 - 2020/10/26

You may have heard in historical accounts that some nations completely obeyed despotic rulers without any effort to stand against them. How can a nation be like this?

A Brief Glance on Ayah 54 of Sorah Zokhrif

بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم

فَاسْتَخَفَّ قَوْمَهُ فَأَطَاعُوهُ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمًا فَاسِقِين
“So he (the Pharaoh) misled his people and they obeyed him; indeed they were a transgressing lot.”

Ayah 54 of Sorah Zukhruf  points out that the Pharaoh deceived the Egyptian people through his baseless words and they made the big blunder of obeying him instead of using their intellect to differentiate truth from falsehood, and thus became transgressors themselves against the mission of Prophet Moses.
