How to treat visitors in Islam

-The topic is about how to treat visitors in Islam, where I explained the things a Muslim should do whenever his fellow Muslims visits him at his home from the hadith of the prophet and his successors(A.S).

Welcoming visitors in Islam

The Beloved Prophet has said,

‘The one who believes in Allah Almighty and the Judgement Day should respect guests.’[1] (Bukhari, vol. 4, pp. 105, Hadith 6019

“God has sent me to perfect good manners and to do good deeds.” (Bukhari)

Imam Reza (as):

“One of the rights of the guest is that you accompany him from the inside to the outside of the house to the door (when he is about to leave).”

Manners host should adopt

1 Food should be quickly brought.

2 If there are fruits in the food, they should be brought first because eating fruits before eating food is more suitable from the medical point of view.

3 If there are different types of dishes, nice and delicious dishes should be brought first so that whoever amongst them wants to eat from them can do so.

4- tablecloth not be removed unless the guest stops eating.

5- Place the amount of food before guests which should suffice for them because placing less food than they need is against respect and placing food more than they need is ostentation. (Ihya-ul-‘Uloom, vol. 2, pp. 21 to 23; summarised).

Conclusion

Surely, Allah will increase our provision if we welcome our guests and give them food and drink and will reward us on the Resurrection Day.

indeed, our glorious Prophet (Pbuh) guides us towards respecting guests and being generous towards them.

In this respect, he says: “Indeed whoever believes that Allah is All-Generous, Who provides for His creation and rewards those who are hospitable towards their guests, should look after his guest.
