The tragedy that will never be forgotten (Part 2) [1]

The tragedy of martyrdom of Imam Hussain (P.B.U.H.) is not forgettable; It should be cried and mourned over until the Day of Judgment.

In part 1 of this article, we mentioned that Imam Sajjad (P.B.U.H.) was always mournful for the event of Karbala and Ahl-al-Bayt (P.B.U.them) used to mourn this tragedy. It was also mentioned that Alousi Baghdadi (a Sunni scholar) cursed the people who fought Imam Hussain (P.B.U.H.). Now, the author is going to present some more cases on this subject.

Sayyed ibn Tawous quoted from Imam Sadiq (P.B.U.H.) that Imam Sadiq (P.B.U.H.) said:

Imam Sajjad (P.B.U.H.) wept over his father for 40 years …  . When he was going to break his fast and his servant brought his water and food, he said: “The son of the Prophet was martyred while he was hungry and thirsty.”. He repeated this continuously and cried until the food became wet with tears and water was mixed with tears. He was constantly like that until he died. [2]

The tragedy that will never be forgotten (part 2)

The narrator quoted: I said to Imam Sajjad (P.B.U.H.): "My Mola! Isn’t it time for your sorrow to end and for your crying to decrease?" He said:

The Prophet Ya’qoub had 12 sons. God hid only one of his sons from his eyes. Due to grief and sorrow, his hair turned white and his eyes became blind and his waist became bent while his son was alive and in this world. I saw my father, my brother and 17 people of my family be killed and fall onto the ground. How can my sorrow and cry be reduced? [3]

Imam Reza (P.B.U.H.) in a narration said to one of his companions:

If you cry over something, cry over [Imam] Hussain (P.B.U.H.) who his head was cut off like sheep and 18 people of his family (that had no equal on earth) were killed with him. [4]

Imam Reza (P.B.U.H.) said in another narration:

Whoever make the Day of Ashura the day of his/her tragedy, sadness and cry, Allah will make the Day of Judgement the day of his/her satisfaction and happiness and s/he will meet us in the heaven (paradise). [5]

Shafi, one of the Sunni scholars and the leader of Shafe's people, has composed some poems about the Ashura event and the tragedy of Karbala in this meaning:

This event is one of the events that has not let me sleep and has turned my hair white. It made my heart and my sight busy with itself and made me sorrowful. My tears have run down. My eyes cannot sleep. The world has become shaking due to this tragedy for the family of the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.). The mountains have been melted due to that.

The recommendations of Ahl-al-Bayt and the lifestyle of Shia and Sunni scholars are to keep alive the tragedy of Imam Hussain (P.B.U.H.). The tragedy of Imam Hussain (P.B.U.H.) is not forgettable and it is renewed every year with the beginning of Muharram and Ashura, and we grieve and mourn over this tragedy.
