According to traditions, there are characteristics related to the issue of guiding and leading people in all these twelve holy and luminous beings. In all circumstances, there is no deficiency in their social and scientific, politics and leadership.[1]

This important and fundamental point can also be seen in the biography of Imam Baqir (peace be upon him). Oppressive rulers and envious people could not tolerate the existence of Imam (a.s) and his blessings. They poisoned him with conspiracy and trickery. The effect of the poison was such that the Imam (peace be upon him) was unable to move for several days until that he was martyred.

On the last night of his blessfull life, Imam Baqir (peace be upon him informed the people around him that, this was the last night of his life and he would soon pass away. It is reported that Imam (a.s) decided to perform ablution in that night. Some people wanted to help him to perform ablution with the water container that was next to their bed. Suddenly, Imam (a.s) ordered to throw away the water of the container and not to use it.

The people were surprised and thought that perhaps fever and illness had risen in the Imam's body and he said unintentionally. But the Imam (peace be upon him) again ordered to empty the water in the container. After the water in the container was empty, they all saw that a mouse had fallen and died in that container and it had defiled the water. For this reason the Imam (a.s) did not want to perform ablution with that water.[2]

This report and other similar hadiths clearly and explicitly state that the Imam (a.s) by God's permission, has scientific knowledge and all-round knowledge of the whole world. The various physical conditions such as illness will not prevent him from guiding on the right path.[3]
