Prohibition of racism in Islam

17:37 - 2023/05/23

Today, the world needs the enlightened and humane rules of Islam more than ever. The more we distance ourselves from these enlightened decrees, which are the efforts of all prophets and are full of intellectual and philosophical wisdom, the more losses we will see.

racism not in Islam

Prohibition of racism in Islam:During the era of Arab ignorance, the issue of racial discrimination was rampant in a very heinous way. People who were non-Arabs and blacks did not have any privileges and were only used as slaves for the welfare of the Arab elites. The Prophet (peace be upon him) lived in such an age and among such people. At the beginning of his prophetic mission, he was assigned to put a false seal on all customs and superstitions of the Jahili era. Therefore, in line with social reforms, he rejected racism and brought freedom and honor to them. With the advent of Islam, all the hopes and aspirations, and interests of the nobles were challenged; Because many of them did not have intellectual and logical support. One of these interests was racial discrimination and imprisoning black people. Therefore, the Qur'an strongly opposes racial pride and privileges. Therefore, the Qur'an does not consider superiority as black or white. Rather, it declares only piety as the criterion of superiority.

The Quran says:

O mankind! Indeed, we created you from a male and a female and made you nations and tribes so that you may identify yourselves with one another. Indeed, the noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the most God wary among you. Indeed, Allah is all-knowing, all aware.[1]

Although some new movements may have created the thought of avoiding racism, Islam has condemned idolatry, slavery, etc. for 1400 years ago.

Today, the world needs the enlightened and humane rules of Islam more than ever. The more we distance ourselves from these enlightened decrees, which are the efforts of all prophets and are full of intellectual and philosophical wisdom, the more losses we will see.
