The role of Imam Reza (a.s.) in the outbreak of Shiism in Iran

Introduction

 Imam Reza (a.s.), the eighth leader of Shiites, was born in Medina in the year 148 AH and took charge at the age of 35. He became the leader of the Muslim community and after 20 years of guidance and leadership, he was martyred in 203 AH in Tus Khorasan.

Arrival of Imam Reza in Iran

Imam Reza (a.s.) entered Iran at the beginning of the third century of Hijri. Islamic conquests started in Iran in the year 12 AH, and at the same time, especially during the Caliphate of Amir al-Mu'minin Ali (AS), people got to know the family of Al Bayt (AS) and became familiar with Shi'ism in this land penetrated. Areas like Mada'an, Qom, and Khorasan were the first areas in the same century the first year of Hijri, they became Shia. Here, the question arises, what effect did the arrival of Imam Reza (AS) in Iran have on the spread of Shiism among Iranians? Certainly, the influence of culture on the opinion of nations cannot be denied. People who have an original civilization and a deep culture have relatively more power of discernment than the rest and this was an important factor for the acceptance of Shiism in Iran. It should be said that the arrival of Imam Reza (AS) had a great impact on the religious, political, social, cultural, and economic tendencies and attitudes of Iranians; Because Imam Reza's (a.s.) scientific, spiritual personality and moral and behavioral ways and his interaction with the people, when they were in Khorasan, doubled this effect.
