Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said:
“Fatima was named Muhaddathah because the angels used to descend from the sky and call to her just as they called Mary daughter of Imran and say:
“O Fatima! “Indeed, God He has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the worlds.”

إِنَّمَا سُمِّیتْ فَاطِمَةُ مُحَدَّثَةً لِأَنَّ الْمَلَائِکةَ کانَتْ تَهْبِطُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ فَتُنَادِیهَا کمَا تُنَادِی مَرْیمَ بِنْتَ عِمْرَانَ فَتَقُولُ یا فَاطِمَةُ «إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصْطَفاک وَ طَهَّرَک وَ اصْطَفاک عَلی نِساءِ الْعالَمِینَ»
