Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said:
“Fatima was named Muhaddathah because the angels used to descend from the sky and call her just as they called Mary daughter of Imran and say: “O Fatima... “Stand up. Come to your Lord and prostrate and bow with those who bow.”

إِنَّمَا سُمِّیتْ فَاطِمَةُ مُحَدَّثَةً لِأَنَّ الْمَلَائِکةَ کانَتْ تَهْبِطُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ فَتُنَادِیهَا کمَا تُنَادِی مَرْیمَ بِنْتَ عِمْرَانَ فَتَقُولُ یا فَاطِمَةُ ...«اقْنُتِی لِرَبِّک وَ اسْجُدِی وَ ارْکعِی مَعَ الرَّاکعِینَ»
