The Prophet (PBUH) said to one of his Companions named Jabir Ibn Abdullah Ansari: "You will see a man from my family whose name is my name, his behavior and actions are my behavior and actions, and he penetrates knowledge to its depths."

 ...Those who were known to be friends and follow us went to prisons, their properties were looted and their houses were destroyed. This practice increased day by day in the time of "Obaidullah bin Ziyad" until "Hajjaj bin Yusuf" came to power in Kufa. He killed Shiites with all kinds of tortures and arrested them with any suspicion and accusation. The field became so narrow for our followers and it got to the point that if someone was described as an "apostate" or an "infidel" it would be better for him to call him a "Shia" of Amir al-Mu'minin (peace be upon him). T people who were known for goodness and perhaps they were really pious and truthful people, narrated amazing hadiths about the superiority of some rulers of the past, things that neither God had created anything from them nor anything had happened from them. Later narrators believed in the authenticity of these materials, because this type of material was attributed to those who were not known for lying and lack of piety."[1]

This narrative has expressed Imam Baqir's (peace be upon him) analysis of the political situation of that time and described the harshness of the Umayyad caliphs towards the Shiites, most of whom lived in Iraq.
