Crying for Imam Hussein and Its Importance

Crying for Imam Hussein and Its Importance

Imam Hussein,

Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said to Zarara:

“There are no eyes and tears more beloved to God than the eyes and tears that you cry for Hussain (peace be upon him). And there is no one who weeps to cry for that honorable person unless his tears reached Hazrat Fatimah (peace be upon him) and helped that lady, and also his tears reached Hazrat Rasulullah (peace and blessings of God be upon him and his family) and thereby fulfilled our right....”[1]

Crying for Imam Hussein and Its Importance

Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) cried so much for the acceptance of his repentance that a trail of tears fell down his cheek.[2]

Hazrat Yaqub (peace be upon him) cried so much for his Yusuf that he lost his sight. Hazrat Yusuf (peace be upon him) cried so much when his father left that the prisoners said either cry at night or during the day.

Hazrat Fatima Zahra, peace be upon her, cried so much when she parted with her father that some people said you made us sad with your tears, either cry at night or during the day. [3]

Hazrat Imam Sajjad (peace be upon him) cried for twenty to forty years during the calamity and mourning of his father Imam Hussain (peace be upon him). Whenever they brought him water and food, he would cry and say that whenever I remember the massacre of Fatima's children, I cry. But one person cried a lot and still cries every morning and evening over the tragedy of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him). Andobannak in the morning and in the evening, and for tears instead of tears. I cry for you every morning and evening and I cry blood instead of tears in your calamity.[4]

Imam Hussain (peace be upon him):

I killed my tears

Every believer should remember me

His tears flow.[5]

The Holy Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said:

“Fatima, every eye will cry on the day of judgment, except for the eye that cried in the tragedy and mourning of Hossein; That eye will be smiling in the Day of Judgment and the good news will be given to the blessings of heaven.”[6]

The Holy Prophet, peace be upon him, said:

For the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, there is a warmth in the hearts of believers that never cools down.[7]

The first to cry, Majlis of Hossein was His mother Hazrat Zahra (A.S), whom God knows very well.

So the Muslims especially the Shias and those who know the value of Imam Hussein in this world should always cry for him every day.
