Thirst in Karbala

The thirst in Kabala

Some believe that Imam Hussain, peace be upon him, his family and companions did not drink water for three days and nights, and then they went to face the enemy thirsty. But the truth is that Umar Saad sent Amro bin Hajjaj with five hundred horsemen three days before Ashura to come down next to Sharia and put a distance between Imam's companions and water. And this does not mean that there was no water storage in the tents, although the water storage was not the answer to the thirst of all the Ahl al-Bayt and Helpers. In the hadiths, we have that Mr. Qamar Bani Hashem, peace be upon him, went to Sharia several times for water. Al-Abbas Ibn Ali, peace be upon him.[1]

Thirst in Karbala

In the book of Irshad Sheikh Mofid, it is stated that on the night of Ashura, Zainab (S.A), peace be upon her, touched her neck... and fell unconscious on the ground, Imam Hussain, peace be upon him, got up and sprinkled water on her sister and... this authentic quote shows that until the night of Ashura, she still There was water in the tents, although it was little and the main thirst was related to the day of Ashura, the extreme heat of the air and the intensity of the fight.

When we look at the people who were against the Imam (PBUH) and his followers, they were not human at all especially their leader Saad.

It was hot and but they could not allow Imam (PBUH) and his people to take even a cup of it!!!

They martyred them with a lot of thirst in Karbala one by one up to Imam Hussein (PBUH).

The land of Karbala and its event cannot be forgotten in the history of mankind until the day of judgment.

The prophet Islam teaches us to give our fellow brother water but these people refused to give Imam water and his group. We have a hadith from the follower of the prophet about water.

Narrated Sahl bin Sad:

A tumbler (full of milk or water) was brought to the Prophet who drank from it, while on his right side there was sitting a boy who was the youngest of those who were present and on his left side, there were old men. The Prophet asked, "O boy, will you allow me to give it (i.e. the rest of the drink) to the old men?" The boy said, "O Allah's Apostle! I will not give preference to anyone over me to drink the rest of it from which you have drunk." So, the Prophet gave it to him.[2]

According to this hadith, we see the prophet giving water to a young boy but in Karbala when Imam Hussein asked for water for his son, who was thirst they answered him with arrows. These are the followers of the prophet and their acts. He died of thirst in Karbala.
