Visiting relatives in Islam 

In many verses and hadiths, many orders have been given to visiting relatives. So that God places it next to the observance of justice and benevolence, which shows the position and importance of mercy and taking care of relatives.

Indeed, Allah enjoins justice and kindness, and generosity towards relatives, and He forbids indecency, wrongdoing, and aggression. He advises you, so that you may take admonition.[1]

Regarding the importance of Seleh-Rahem, it is enough that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) ordered all people to visiting relatives; Even if a person faces many difficulties on this path and the road is very far.

He considered Seleh-Rahem to be a part of religion and said that whoever does not fulfill it, his religion is incomplete.

The role of  Seleh-Rahem

visiting relatives saves a person from all kinds of bad deaths and suffering from all kinds of dangerous diseases and sudden death and makes a person feel comfortable in the afterlife.

Imam Sadiq, peace be upon him, says: it makes the reckoning easier on the Day of Resurrection and prevents a person from dying badly.[3]

 

Avoid causing problems for the host

If the guest causes trouble for the host, Seleh-Rahem will not continue. Observance of simplicity and few expenses is one of the important customs of Seleh-Rahem.

In some hadiths, it has been mentioned to hold the Seleh-Rahem in a simple way, which can be a suitable model for such ceremonies.

Visit your relatives, Although to the extent of drinking water.[4]
