Manifestation of loyalty and sacrifice in Imam Hussain’s Corps (AS)

The present article deals with the issue of how Imam Hussain (AS) called his companions the most faithful and best companions and how did his companions show loyalty and sacrifice?

Imam Hussain's (a.s.) prideful description of his companions on the night of Ashura:

On the night of Ashura, Imam Hussain (AS) dedicated a part of the night to talking with his companions and comforting his family. Imam (a.s.) gathered all his companions and companions, first appreciated their support and sacrifice, and then announced I took my allegiance from you and left you free so that you can leave the battle and save your life.

The conversation between Imam (a.s.) and his companions has been narrated by Imam Sajjad (a.s.) as saying that my father, Husain (a.s.) gathered his companions near the evening of Tasua, I was sick but I went near him to hear his words. My father used to say to his friends:

“I praise God who is superior and exalted and I thank him in ease and hardship. O God, thank you for honoring us with prophethood and teaching us the Qur'an and making us a jurist in religion, and giving us ears, eyes, and hearts, so make us among the grateful”

Then Imam Hussain (AS) said to his friends and companions:

“I don't know more loyal and better companions than my companions, and I don't know better and closer Ahl al-Bayt than my Ahl al-Bayt (AS). May God reward you all.”[1] be aware! I think tomorrow is our last day with these enemies; So, I took my oath from you and set you all free, use the darkness of the night and put it in your compound and go, this group will release the others by killing me.

As can be seen, Imam Hussain (AS) praised his companions a lot and said: I don't know any more faithful and better companions than you. This statement shows the peak of greatness and utmost loyalty of those dignitaries.

Declaration of loyalty of companions of Seyyed al-Shohad (AS) on the night of Ashura

After Seyyed al-Shahda (a.s.) took his oath and left his companions free to use the darkness of the night and save their lives, those nobles reacted and all of them declared their loyalty and expressed their support.

1- Abul Fazl al-Abbas

The first person to speak was Hazrat Abbas (AS). He said:

“Why should we go and leave you alone? Is it to survive after you? God never brought such a day!”[2]

2- Muslim bin Ausjah:

He said: If we let you go, what excuse will we make in front of God? By God, even if my spear breaks in their chest and my sword is released from my hand, I will not be separated from you, and if I have no weapon with me, I will defend you with a stone until I die with you.

3- Said bin Abdullah:

"I swear to God, I will not leave you until God knows that we have protected you in the absence of the Messenger (PBUH) and his messenger. By God, if I know that I will be killed and then I will be resurrected and then I will be burned and then I will be torn to pieces and this It is done to me seventy times, I will not part from you to meet God with my death. How can I not, when this killing is not more than once, but it carries with it a dignity and greatness that will never perish? "

4- Zuhair bin Qain:

"I swear to God, I would have loved to be killed, then come back alive and be killed again a thousand times, but God would prevent you and the youth of your Ahl al-Bayt (A.S.) from being killed by this means."

5- Other friends & companion

Other companions of Imam Hussain (AS) expressed similar words in support of that Imam and they all said, "We sacrifice our lives in your way."

Result:

From examining the words of Seyyed al-Shahada (a.s.) as well as studying the speech and behavior of his companions, it is found that Imam Hussain (a.s.) mentioned his companions well and called them the most faithful & the best companions. Therefore, Imam Hussain's companions are also mentioned as examples of loyalty and examples of sacrifice.
