Patience in the Quran

Patience is one of the greatest virtues in Islam. Patience means believer’s resistance against problems in order to grow closer to God. [1]
Imam Sadiq (PBU) said:

“Patience is the uppermost part of faith.” [2]

According to the Quran, Almighty Allah (J) tests all believers with different types of tragedy such as fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits.
Almighty Allah (J) said:

And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient. [3]

Then he encourages all believers to have patience. Almighty Allah (J) said:

Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided. [4]
