Treachery against brothers in faith

12:08 - 2016/02/18

The Saudi Arabia by launching a war against their Muslim brothers in Yemen are betraying the Muslims.

The Muslims are the brothers of each other and should not betray one other. Unfortunately in recent years some Muslim states have engaged in betrayal toward their Muslim brethren and have defiled Islam and Muslims to achieve material desires. The war of Saudi Arabia launched against Yemen is one example in which the Saudis try to gain power and trivial worldly interests.

A brother does not betray his brother
The Quran considers Muslims as brothers to each other and warns them against disunity which is the cause of deceit and betrayal:The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy.[1]
In a family, when two brothers disagree on something and quarrel with each other, other family members try to solve their disagreement. Similar approach should be applied when there is a conflict between two Muslim countries, i.e. other Muslim countries should make efforts to amend their disunity. But unfortunately Muslim organizations are as a means for these warlike countries to achieve their goals. Worse than that is that the citizens of these countries also do not protest the approach of their governments. Such state has been justified in this famous tradition: people are the followers of the conviction of their rulers.[2]

Disobeying God and the Prophet (PBUH) means disloyalty to them
In surah al-Anfal verse one the Quran advises Muslims that friendship and unity will be achieved through piety and obedience to God and the Prophet (PBUH): So fear Allah and amend that which is between you and obey Allah and His Messenger, if you should be believers.[3]
But the Saudis follow what Wahhabism says, that is, excommunicating other Muslims (not befriending them) and terrorizing them. They also export terrorism to other Muslim countries like Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. Such is their conduct and yet they claim that this is what Islam promulgates. Unfortunately for those who are unaware of true Islam, what the Saudis do tarnishes and defiles Muslims and the kind characteristic of the Prophet (PBUH) and indeed, this is betrayal to them. The Quran says: O, you who have believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know [the consequence].[4]
Undoubtedly, the war launched by Saudi Arabia against the people of Yemen is a clear instance of disloyalty to God and Prophet and betraying them. They Prevented the Yemeni pilgrims from attending the Hajj at the sanctuary of Mecca-which they falsely claim to be the trustees of it and the shrine of the Prophet (PBUH) in Madinah-. What can this be named other than betrayal to God, the Prophet and the Muslims? They neglect the hadith of the prophet in which he said: Whoever betrays a believer has betrayed God and his messenger.[5]
The government of Saudi Arabia not only betrays the Muslim people of Yemen by killing the innocent children, women and others but also they betray other Arab nations. Yemen is a neighbor of Saudi Arabia and an Arab nation and more important than everything a Muslim country. Yet they have launched a war against them. Or the residents of Gaza strip are Muslims and of the Sunni denomination to which the Saudis tend to be more inclined but why are they silent about their suffering and decades of being oppressed?
Not only they are silent about Palestinians rather they have relations and are friendly with Israel the enemy of the Palestinians. Isn’t this betrayal of Muslims? In fact, as the Quran says, they are betraying themselves unknowingly: And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We believe"; but when they are alone with their evil ones, they say, "Indeed, we are with you; we were only mockers."[6]
It is hypocrisy to befriend the enemies of the Muslims and yet claim to be the servants of the two holy shrines. God says about the hypocrites: [But] Allah mocks them and prolongs them in their transgression [while] they wander blindly.[7]
