Prophets

-The five prophets who had books and have high rank compared to others.

When addressing the other prophets, the Quran calls them by their names, but when addressing Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), The Quran calls him by his divine position as the Messenger of Allah.

قال الامام الرضا علیه السلام:مِنْ‏ أَخْلَاقِ‏ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ التَّنَظُّفُ‏، تحف العقول، ص

An unforgivable sin of the Children of Israel which caused them to be stricken with abasement and indigence and burdened them with the wrath of God was killing of prophets. A number of hadiths reveal that, at one point, they killed about 300 prophets in just one day.   

 Referring to the holy Quran it becomes clear that the prophets know some of the unseen things and events; thus, no one can reject totally the possibility of such knowledge for the prophets. 

The prophet has also said,
I have received five gifts from God, one of which is that of intercession, which I have in store for my community, my intercession is for those who have not associated any partner with God...

According to the Quran, prophet Abraham broke all the Idols into pieces except the chief of them, and when people asked him whether he had broken them or not, he replied,

He said, "Rather, this - the largest of them - did it, so ask them, if they should [be able to] speak."...

Summary: Explain the infallibility of the prophets. Why is it that some verses of the Qur`an contradict their infallibility?
