Al-Khums
A Gift whose Khums is Not Paid
 If a person gives you a gift, as long as the receiver is not certain whether the money given to him is subject to khums, he is not required to pay its khums. |
The Prophet (P) and the Expenditure of Khums and Zakah
 The Prophet (PBUH) never asked neither Allah (SWT) nor the people for any payment in exchange for the announcement of his prophet-hood and also for all the efforts he made for the sake of Islam. In fact, Allah (SWT) gave him and his progeny the One fifth (Khums) as a divine blessing.
