Unfortunately, some sectarian, partisan and political interests led some people to make fun of Karbala while all Muslim scholars and poets have considered it as a turning point and tragic event. Indeed it is a cross-sectarian matter.
- Imam Hussein’s uprising has a clear history and the reasons that why he stood against oppression and cruel establishment of his time, also, are obvious. Unfortunately, some of the ignorant people, based on specific sectarian, partisan and political interests, try to make fun of it and the people who involve with the preaching about this tragic event. We should be aware that Karbala is a cross-sectarian matter and somehow is, among others, a rite (or Symbols) of Allah (SWT) as some practices in Haj which commemorate Abraham’s and his family’s success in passing divine trials are Allah’s Symbols. Almost all Muslim scholars have considered the event and counted it as a turning point within Islamic history. Moreover, we should know that “…whosoever magnifies the rituals of God, truly that comes from the reverence of hearts..” [1]
