The Confiscation of Fadak

01:33 - 2017/10/31

Fatimah (S) did not enter into dispute with Abu Bakr because of some palms trees in Fadak. She cried for she saw that how Muslims turn back on their heels and how the Ignorance Age's thoughts and values come to light again.

The Main Reason behind Fatimah’s Protest over Confiscation of Fadak

Distortion and turning back to the Ignorance Age’s norms and values are the main concerns of Lady Fatimah (S) in Fadak sermon in which she protests about Fadak. She reminded people about the place of the Prophet (P) and his progeny. She reminded them about a verse of the Qur’an:” Is it the judgment of the Age of Ignorance that they seek? And who is fairer in judgment than God, for a people who are certain.”[1] Indeed, she stood against distortion, and Fadak was a means and symbol of her protest. [2] She saw that how some people turned away the Qur’an the Prophet’s teachings. They deprived Imam Ali (A) from his right as the rightful successor of the Prophet (P). They took Fadak fabricating an account that the Prophet (P) himself said “We leave no inheritance…” [3] while the Qur’an in five occasions (27:16; 19:5-6; 33:6; 4:11; 2:180) states that People including the Prophets leave inheritance, and the Prophet (s) never spoke against the Qur’an.
