The birth of Prophet Moses (PBUH)

12:45 - 2023/07/23

one of the Quranic stories about Moses include the story of Moses being thrown into the river. According to this story, Moses' mother, fearing that her son would be killed by Pharaoh's soldiers, put him in a chest and threw him into the river. Moses reached Pharaoh's palace and grew up there.

The birth of Prophet Moses (PBUH)

According to the Qur'anic verses, after the birth of Prophet Moses (PBUH), God revealed to his mother  to breastfeed her child and when you were afraid of his life, put him in a chest and leave him in the river and do not worry and do not be afraid.[1]

After breastfeeding her child, fearing possible dangers, Musa's mother put Musa in a chest and threw it in the river and sent her daughter to look for the chest.[2]

Because of the concern of Moses' mother,[3] God gave her hope and promised that we will return Moses to you and also make him one of the prophets.

Someone from Pharaoh's family took Moses from the water. The Torah identifies this person as Pharaoh's daughter. Pharaoh's wife called Moses the light of her eyes

Pharaoh’s wife said [to him], ‘[This infant will be] a [source of] comfort to me and to you. Do not kill him. Maybe he will benefit us, or we will adopt him as a son.’ But they were not aware.[4]

After saving Moses (AS) from the river, he did not accept the milk of any woman until, at the suggestion of Moses' sister, his mother was brought and thus Moses returned to his mother.[5]

Similarity of Hazrat Moses (AS) with Hazrat Mahdi (a)

Imam Zain al-Abidin (a.s.) says in a part of a narration: Musa (a.s.) had two absences from his people, one of which was longer than the other.

The first absence was from Egypt, and the second absence was when he went to the meeting place of his Lord.[6]
