What are the most important deeds and prayers for the Day of Ghadir?[1] (part1)

On Zi-Hajjah 18th of the year 10 A.H., in the time of returning from Hajjat-ul-Weda' (farewell Hajj. The last Hajj of the Holy Prophet(P.B.U.H.)), "Balagh" (Delivering) verse was descended (revealed) to the Holy Prophet Mohammad (P.B.U.H.). In this verse, Allah says: "O Messenger! Deliver what has been revealed to you from your Lord. And if you do not, then you will not have delivered His message.”. The Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H.) stopped a place called Ghadir Khum so that his companions gathered around him. Then, he delivered a sermon and after that, he called Imam Ali (P.B.U.H.) and introduced Imam Ali (P.B.U.H.) as his successor. In this article, the author is going to mention some of the recommended deeds and prayers for the anniversary of the Day of Ghadir, in the following:

1- Fasting (Sawm):

One of the most important much-recommended deeds on the Day of Ghadir is Sawm (fasting).

2- Giving Iftar:

Among the recommended deeds for the day of Ghadir, giving Iftar[2] to believers has a lofty position. Based on the narrations, there is a great virtue in this deed. Imam Ali (P.B.U.H.) says: "Anyone who gives Iftar to a believer who has been fasting during the day is like the fact that s/he had given Iftar to 10 Fe'ams.". Someone asked: "What is "Fe'am"? Imam Ali (P.B.U.H.) said: "100 thousand Prophets and Seddiqs (honest) and martyrs.". Then he continued: "Therefore, how (much) will the virtue of someone who gives Iftar to a group of believers be?!"

3- The prayer (Salat) of the Day of Ghadir Eid:

Imam Sadiq (P.B.U.H.) says: "At noon, two Rak'ahs of prayer should be said. In every Rak'ah, one chapter Hamd, 10 times chapter Tawhid, 10 times chapter Qadr and 10 times Ayat-ul-Kursi (the verse 255 of chapter Baqarah) must be recited.". But the fact that one chapter Hamd and one chapter Tawhid are recited in every Rak'ah suffices. After the prayer, Tasbih of Lady Zahra (P.B.U.H.) must be said and then, a prayer (Dua)[3] must be recited.

4- Okhowwat Aqd (brotherhood covenant):

The day of Wilayat[4] is the day of brotherhood and the day of brotherhood is the day of Wilayat. These two have an irrefrangible link together and their link is faith. Because on the one hand, the faith is formed by Wilayat and on the other hand, the people of faith are brothers of each other. "The faithful are indeed brothers" [5]. That's why brotherhood has been considered one of the religious deeds of the day of Ghadir.
