The struggle of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) against the slavery system:

The system of slavery and human exploitation is an abominable phenomenon that disturbs the souls of wise people. Islam, which is a religion of nature and reason, fought against this phenomenon from the very beginning. The Noble Prophet (PBUH) rejected racial, ethnic, regional discrimination, etc. Instead, he introduced faith and divine piety as the criterion of human superiority. But since this phenomenon was common and rooted in human societies of that time, it was impossible to eradicate it at once.

Therefore, the Noble Prophet gradually fought against it. At first, he did not distinguish between a free man and a slave. Hi advised Muslims: "None of you should say 'My slave', but rather say 'My youth or my daughter' Many of the Prophet's companions, such as Salman and Bilal were slaves. They were honored by him and were among the leaders of the Islamic army. [1]

The Prophet (PBUH) introduced Salman as part of his family due to his high faith and piety . He made Bilal his official muezzin as well. [2]

In the way of gradually fighting against the slavery system, the Noble Prophet used many practical solutions. Such as freeing the slave as one of the great acts of worship, punishing some sins by freeing the slave, giving the slave the right to make an agreement with his master that if he paid the price pay should be released, and many other examples. [3]

Unfortunately, after the Prophet, the leadership of the Islamic society was removed from the hands of divine leaders and placed in the hands of (Taghut) cruel leaders. Otherwise we would have witnessed the complete elimination of the slavery system in Islam, long before the abolition of slavery in the west.
