Remembering the Imams with the interpretation of (Peace Be Upon Him)

Remembering the Imams with the interpretation of (Peace Be Upon Him)

As you know, Shiites often use the expression "peace be upon them" when mentioning and hearing the names of the infallible Imams.

question:

Why do Shiites use the expression (peace be upon them) when they mention Imams? Some people suspect that this model of greeting is one of the heresies of heretic clergymen!!!!

Remembering the imams with the interpretation of peace be upon him

Response:

The expression "Peace be upon you" that we use about our Imams is a prayerful interpretation, that is, we ask God for safety and health from pests and calamities for our imams in all stages of existence, and this kind of supplication has its origins in the Quran because, In the Qur'an, God sends greetings to the prophets of the past in several cases:

Peace be upon Noah in the worlds.[1]

Greetings to Musa and Harun.[2]

Greetings to the messengers.[3]

Similarly, in a verse, God sent greetings to the family of Yasin, and we have said below that one of the meanings of the verse is that the family of Yasin includes the Imams, and Yasin is also the name of the Prophet which means peace to be upon the family of Muhammad.

greetings to the family of Yasin.[4]

Similarly, in another verse,

peace is sent to the righteous servants of God.[5]

It becomes clear that sending greetings to God's righteous servants is a Quranic tradition, and God teaches us by giving such greetings that we should also send greetings to God's righteous servants like our Imams, peace be upon them, and in this way honor and respect those nobles.

We also see in Islamic traditions that sending greetings to the Prophet and Imams is emphasized, and the Prophet of Islam said ;

send greetings to me because your greetings reach me through angels.[6]

Or in another narration, Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) said to send greetings to the imams from afar and know that your greetings will reach them.[7]
