When death comes to one of them, he says, ‘My Lord! Take me back, that I may act righteously in what I have left behind.’ ‘By no means! These are mere words that he says.’ And before them is a barrier until the day they will be resurrected.
Missing opportunities before death
Missing opportunities
Mirza Mahdi Shirazi, one of the great scholars and religious authorities, dug a grave in the yard of his house in Karbala. He also put his shroud in his prayer mat and when he woke up in the middle of the night for the night prayer, he put on the shroud and then entered the grave and said to himself: "O, Mirza Mahdi! Now consider yourself dead and this grave in which you were buried as yours. What is your worthy deed now? And he said to himself like this and cried and then read this verse;
When death comes to one of them, he says, ‘My Lord! Take me back, that I may act righteously in what I have left behind.’ ‘By no means! These are mere words that he says.’ And before them is a barrier until the day they will be resurrected.[1]
Then he would say: " dot say anything.!" You do not deserve to return to the world. You missed opportunities.
