Do not turn your cheek away disdainfully from the people, and do not walk exultantly on the earth. Indeed, Allah does not like any swaggering braggart.
Arrogance because of lineage
Arrogance for what?!
It is said that one of the elders of Greece became arrogant over a slave and boasted to him. slave stopped him and said: "If your pride is because of your lineage and your fathers, then the superiority is for them and not for you, if your pride is because of the clothes you are wearing, then your honor is for your clothes and not for yourself, and if it is because of a good ship that you are riding, then this virtue belongs to that means of shipping and not for you. Now, what do you have that you want to show arrogance and boasting about?
The Holy Quran says:
Do not walk exultantly on the earth. Indeed, you will neither pierce the earth, nor reach the mountains in height.[1]
And in another verse states:
Do not turn your cheek away disdainfully from the people, and do not walk exultantly on the earth. Indeed, Allah does not like any swaggering braggart.[2]
