11:50 - 2022/11/15

-So, woe to them who write the Book with their hands and then say, ‘This is from Allah,’ that they may sell it for a paltry gain. So, woe to them for what their hands have written, and woe to them for what they earn!

What is the relationship between the Qur'an and heavenly previous books?

What is the relationship between the Qur'an and heavenly previous books?

previous books: The Holy Quran is the last divine book that was revealed to the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) which completes the previous laws and obviously confirms the previous divine books - such as the Torah, the Bible, the Scriptures of Abraham, the Psalms of David, and the teachings The truth considers them as light and guidance from God. Of course, not those parts of them that have been distorted.

Here are some of these verses:

1- And when they are told, ‘Believe in what Allah has sent down,’ they say, ‘We believe in what was sent down to us,’ and they disbelieve what is besides it, though it is the truth confirming what is with them.[1]

2- And this is a Book We have revealed, blessed, verifying that which is before it.[2]

3- We followed them with Jesus' son of Mary, to confirm that which was before him of the Torah, and We gave him the Evangel containing guidance and light, confirming what was before it of the Torah, and as guidance and advice for the Godwary.[3]

4- Say, ‘Whoever is an enemy of Gabriel [should know that] it is he who has brought it down on your heart with the will of Allah, confirming what has been [revealed] before it and as a guidance and good news for the faithful'.[4]

5- He has sent down to you the Book with the truth, confirming what was [revealed] before it, and He had sent down the Torah and the Bible.[5]

With all these confirmations, the Holy Qur'an states that the existing books are full of distortions that have been introduced by the enemies, or deviant and corrupt scholars, and have distorted their teachings.

So, woe to them who write the Book with their hands and then say, ‘This is from Allah,’ that they may sell it for a paltry gain. So, woe to them for what their hands have written, and woe to them for what they earn![6]
