ISIS's antithetical movements to Quranic teachings

Terroristic attacks of innocent people and killing them has nothing to do with Islam and Quranic teachings that is why this article is going to  briefly deal with the issue of Islam and terror.

ISIS's antithetical movements to Quranic teachings

The killing and oppression of innocent people and the destruction of land and property is totally antithetical to Quranic teachings. Quran warns its readers not to be influenced by figures who spread evil in the world saying that “there is a kind of man whose views on the life of this world may please thee greatly, and [the more so as] he cites God as witness to what is in his heart and is, moreover, exceedingly skillful in argument. But whenever he prevails, he goes about the earth spreading corruption and destroying property and progeny [even though] God does not like corruption.” [1]

According to the Quran killing is not permitted unless authorized through a “legal process” by a “legitimate state.” [2] As a terrorist group ISIS members are not permitted to call anyone a Mufsid; because, as it was mentioned, only a “legitimate Islamic state” can do that.  Therefore, we are calling for specific action by those, according to Quranic law, who are permitted to declare an individual a Mufsid or a group of corruptors on earth “Mufsidun.”

It must be noted that “Mufsidun Fi Al Ardh.” Which is a Quranic term means those who spread corruption on earth. Those convicted of this crime in the Islamic code are sentenced to death through a legal decree by a state or “legal authority.” Based on the mentioned points the terrorist groups such as ISIS are not allowed to kill or issue an order to kill.

Albeit,  the holy Quran allows (and, sometimes, even encourages) Muslims to engage in just fighting and resistance, it is in order to deter those who wage wars without just cause, and those who engage in religious persecution — exact crimes that the ISIS is engaging in Iraq today. According to the holy Quran  “Permission [to fight] is given to those against whom war is being wrongfully waged … those who have been driven from their homelands against all right for no other reason than their saying, ‘Our Sustainer is God!’ For, if God had not enabled people to defend themselves against one another, monasteries and churches and synagogues and mosques — in which God’s name is abundantly extolled would surely have been destroyed …” [3]

Conclusively, the holy Quran does never allow the terrorist groups to kill innocent people under the name of Islam accusing them of being corruptors on earth as ISIS and other terrorist groups do in Iraq and Syria. Hence, the terrorist movements and activities must not be called as religious or Islamic practices rather the ISIS's movements are totally and categorically antithetical to Quranic teachings.
