Intelligent Design Argument in Quarn

Soon We shall show them Our signs in the horizons and in their own souls until it becomes clear to them that He is the Truth. Is it not sufficient that your Lord is witness to all things?[1]

There are a great number of verses recommending us to scrutinize the order of the world. These verses are providing the premises for the argument from design or intelligent design argument which is an argument for the existence of an intelligent designer or God in general as an intelligent creator.

Quran puts special emphasis on this argument because its premises are clear and easy to be verified as one can observe himself to find the signs. This argument traces back to the ancient Greek philosophers[2] and lots of philosophers during the history tried to put it in a logical argument.[3]

Briefly the argument based on perceived evidence of design in the natural or physical world including human being, animals, mountains, skies, galaxies, the sun, the moon, the stars and so on, asserts that the intelligent design proves the existence of the intelligent designer who is called God.

In the narration we have Imam al-Sadiq (a.s) saying the first reason to prove the existence of Allah is creation of this world and the order and harmony existed between the parts of this world.[4]
