It is an outline of Quranic teachings with regard to the terroristic practices of Takfiri groups in the Middle East.
During the recent years, some of the terrorist groups such as ISIS have murdered thousands of innocent non-Muslim civilians in Iraq and arrested many of them as slaves forcing them to change their religious beliefs. Due to this fact now it is a matter of concern and discussion whether Islam and holy Quran permit coercing other people into change their religious beliefs and convert to Islam.
To answer the question we must refer to the holy Quran as the main source of Islamic rules and sharia in order to find what the real view of Islam is in this regard. Prior to that, it must be mentioned that terrorism is above all murder. Murder is strictly forbidden in the holy Qur’an in which Allah (J) says “and do not kill a soul that God has made sacrosanct, save lawfully.” [1]
But it does not mean that murder is categorically forbidden in Islam rather the death penalty imposed by the state for a crime is permitted. Almighty Allah (J) commands Muslims that “… whoso kills a soul, unless it be for murder or for wreaking corruption in the land, it shall be as if he had killed all mankind; and he who saves a life, it shall be as if he had given life to all mankind.” [2]
The terrorist militants in the Middle East misunderstood Islamic sharia that’s why they force others to accept Otherwise they will be sold as slaves. They don’t know the Islamic sharia or they know it but intentionally try to destroy the merciful face of Islam in the modern world. Unfortunately, the western mess media propagate against Islam referring to the misbehavior of terrorist groups with the non-Muslims.
In the holy Quran terrorism is impermissible for the sake of religious motives; because, it is strictly forbidden to attempt to impose Islam on other people. The Qur’an says, “There is no compulsion in religion. The right way has become distinct from error.” [3]
Finally it must be noted that Muslims and non-Muslims should not consider terrorist and Takfiri militants as the representatives of Islam rather they must study Islam from the holy Quran and authentic Islamic sources.
