Precious hadiths from Imam Baqir (a.s)

Imam Baqir (a.s) bequeathed priceless traditions for generations to come.

1- Inconsistency of jealousy and humiliating with knowledge
A servant will not be knowledgeable up until he is not jealous towards the one who is higher than him and does not humiliate the one who is lower than him.[1]

2- there is no struggle like struggling with one’s carnal desires
There is no virtue like Jihad, and there is no Jihad like the Jihad with the carnal desires.[2]

3- The importance of congregational prayer
Whoever does not attend the congregational prayer out of lack of interest towards it and towards the community of the Muslims without any excuse, there is no prayer for him.[3]

4- Talk to people the way you like to be talked to
Say to people the best of what you like to be said to you.[4]

5- Prudence about what one say the way to avoid sins
No one will be safe from sins unless he keeps his tongue (from saying what is not permitted).[5]

6- The deed which is the fastest in bringing about reward
Verily, the deed which is the fastest in bringing about remuneration in paying visits to relatives.[6]

7- Retaining the anger keeps away chastisement of the day of judgement
Whosoever restrains his anger from (exerting it on) people, God the exalted the holy, will restrain his torment from him on the day of judgement.[7]

8- Good intention leads to increase in receiving God’s bounties
One who has good intention, there will be increase in his bounties (received from God).[8]

9- The best combination
No two things combined are better than patience combined with knowledge.[9]

10- The most beloved person in the eyes of God
Among the most beloved servants before God is the doers of good deeds who repents a lot.[10]

11- The outcome of piety
Verily God Almighty saves by piety his servant from what his reason does not apprehend and removes by piety his blindness and ignorance.[11]

12- With whom should we consult?
Seek consult in your issues only from those who fear God.[12]

13- The best worship
There is no worship better before God than chastity of the belly and the private parts.[13]

14- Staying in this world
Accommodate yourself in this world like a place in which you stay for an hour then you leave it.[14]

15- Shedding tears in fear of God
There is no drop before God better than the drop of tears shed from fear of nothing but God in the darkness of night.[15]
