They even told Imam Ali (peace be upon him) something that it was as if Ayesha had expressed her pleasure. Be that as it may, immediately after Abu Bakr took the caliphate and Imam's insistence on proving his rightness towards the caliphate caused problems in their relations.

The attack on the Imam's house, the angry state of Lady Fatima (peace be upon her) and not allowing the presence of the first two caliphs over her body deepened the dispute. After that, the Imam became withdrawn and went to his personal life. The government expected that the Imam, as he pledged allegiance, would stop claiming his righteousness and fight with the sword in hand to consolidate the foundations of their power with their opponents from the apostates. Imam rejected this request. With such a position, it was natural that the government had to humiliate him in the eyes of the people. This policy could lead to further isolation of the Imam (a.s).

In cursing the Quraish, the Imam said:

"O God! I ask you for help against the Quraish and the one who helps the Quraish. They cut my kinship, reduced my high rank and fought with me in what was my right.

The Imam further said:

"I looked and saw that there was no defender and helper except my family, whom I hesitated to drive them to death, Therefore, I waited like a thorn in my eye and a bone in my throat".[1]
