It is related in Bihar al Anwar from the Amali of Shaikh from Imam Ja’far as Sadiq (a.s.) that the Prophet (s.a.w.s.) married Sayyedah Fatemah (s.a.) to Imam Ali (a.s.). One day he (s.a.w.s.) went to meet her (s.a.) and saw her weeping, he said, “Why do you weep ? I swear by Allah ! If there was another person better than Ali in my family, I would have married you to him. Besides I did not marry you to Ali except that I consider you to be ئhis perfect match. While your Mahr shall be the Khums of this world forever.
