Does the devil try to mislead a person until the last moment of his life?

According to what is stated in the most reliable religious sources, Satan asked God to give him time until the Day of Judgment in order to mislead people:

"He said, ‘My Lord! Respite me till the day they will be resurrected."[1]

Now the question arises, does the devil try to mislead a person until the last moments of his life?

(Satan) said: "My Lord, so give me respite until the day when they will be resurrected"; God also gave Satan a deadline until a specific day.

It was followed by Satan swearing that he will mislead all people except the sincere: " He said, ‘My Lord! As You have consigned me to perversity, I will surely glamorize [evil] for them on the earth, and I will surely pervert them, all"[2]

Therefore, it is natural that the devil will use his efforts to mislead people until the last possible moment and will not stop being cunning.

In this regard, Imam Sadiq (A.S) says: Whenever the time of death of one of our Shiites comes, Satan comes to his bedside from right and left to mislead him from what he believes in, but God prevents it. and does not let him do that: " Allah fortifies those who have faith with a constant creed in the life of this world and in the Hereafter."[3] And this is what God said

He also said: "There is no human being except that at the time of death, Satan sends one of his agents to him to tempt him, make him doubt in his religion and finally lead him to disbelief."

He also said: "There is no human being except that at the time of death, Satan sends one of his agents to him to tempt him, make him doubt in his religion and finally lead him to disbelief." This temptation continues until the soul leaves his body, if he is a believer, Satan cannot overcome him and take away his religion and faith from him. So, when one of you comes to the bedside of a dying relative, recite your Two Testimonies to him so that Satan does not tempt him/her.[4]
