Despite all of these facts mainstream of people around the world were worshiping something deserved to be worshipped.
فَأَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ حَنيفاً فِطْرَتَ اللَّهِ الَّتي فَطَرَ النَّاسَ عَلَيْها لا تَبْديلَ لِخَلْقِ اللَّهِ ذلِكَ الدِّينُ الْقَيِّمُ وَ لكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لا يَعْلَمُون
So set your heart on the religion as a people of pure faith, the origination of Allah according to which He originated mankind, there is no altering Allah's creation; that is the upright religion, but most people do not know.[1]
There are many ways to Know Allah but when we refer to the Quran we find out that Allah has put more emphasis on awakening of human's pure nature and He relies upon Monotheistic nature of mankind. It means Allah the Exalted created humans in a manner keen to believe in Allah and worship Allah. In another word, not only Allah has not created humans as empty cassettes but also He created humans eagerly enthusiastic about worshiping Allah.
In the records of history we find the fact that despite all the critiques offered by atheists the mainstream humans have been worshiping Allah. It is true that in some cases people were misguided towards fake and false gods as we read in the Quran; "Surely pure religion is for Allah only, and those who take guardians besides Him [claiming]" We only worship them so that they may bring us near to Allah," Allah will indeed judge between them concerning that about which they differ. Indeed Allah does not guide someone who is a liar and an ingrate."[2] This group is claiming they worship deities in order to get near to Allah.
But, in some cases people were aware of what they were doing. In the verses of Quran we read several times Allah asking unbelievers and polytheists; If you ask them," Who created the heavens and the earth? "they will surely say," Allah."[3] while they knew the truth they were reluctant to worship Allah.
Despite all of these facts mainstream of people around the world always were worshiping something deserved to be worshipped. In our narration resources we have supporting hadiths as is narrated from the Prophet saying: every baby is born according to the nature or the origination (Fitra) unless his parents make him/her a Jew or a Christian or a fire worshipper.[4] Moreover this hadith clearly stresses the role and importance of parents' duties and responsibilities to have a good upbringing.
