Summary:
"وَمِنْ آیَاتِهِ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَکُمْ مِنْ أَنفُسِکُمْ أَزْوَاجًا لِتَسْکُنُوا إِلَیْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَیْنَکُمْ مَوَدَّهً وَرَحْمَهً إِنَّ فِی ذَلِکَ لَآیَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ یَتَفَکَّرُون"
"And one of His signs is that He created mates for you from yourselves that you may find rest in them, and He put between you love and compassion; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect"
There are several points here.
Allah, who is the Creator of human beings and knows their peculiarities, characteristics, nature and instincts, described the creation of man and woman and placing them side by side, as one of His wisdoms and signs, and introduced marriage as the cause of love, affection, beneficence and comfort of man, saying:
"وَمِنْ آیَاتِهِ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَکُمْ مِنْ أَنفُسِکُمْ أَزْوَاجًا لِتَسْکُنُوا إِلَیْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَیْنَکُمْ مَوَدَّهً وَرَحْمَهً إِنَّ فِی ذَلِکَ لَآیَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ یَتَفَکَّرُون"
"And one of His signs is that He created mates for you from yourselves that you may find rest in them, and He put between you love and compassion; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect"{1}
Points and Messages:
a) Creation is targeted. «خلق لكم»
b) spouse should be factor of peace not anxiety and convulsion. «لتسكنوا الیها» and this peace and comfort are not the common.
c) Role of spouse is sedation. «لتسكنوا الیها»
d) affection is divine gift. "'وَجَعَلَ بَیْنَکُمْ مَوَدَّهً وَرَحْمَهً"
