- One of the most difficult divine tests is the confrontation between the two currents of right and wrong in the incident of Karbala and the uprising of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) against Yazid bin Muawiya.

Facing the very difficult test of Ashura, the people were divided into three categories: the first category of people who fought with the enemies of Islam and sacrificed their lives in this way, certainly they came out victorious and proud of this test. They were included to heaven and divine mercy.
The second category is the people who stood in front of the Imam, fought him and martyred him as well as his companions. This group of people failed in this difficult test and will suffer a painful punishment in the hereafter. As the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said about their situation in the hereafter: “Indeed, there is a place in the fire of hell that no one deserve it from the people, except for the murderers of Hussain bin Ali and Yahya bin al-Zakaria (peace be upon them)”.[1]
But the third group in this historical event were people who were neutral in the uprising of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him). It should be said about them that they are the same as those people who stood in front of Imam and fought against him. So, not only their crime is not less than the second group, but they are considered accomplices of the oppressors! As Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) said about these people: “If someone hears our call and does not answer us, God will throw him face down into the fire of hell”.[2]
