Imam Baqir (Peace be upon him) - 10

The Prophet (PBUH) said to one of his Companions named Jabir Ibn Abdullah Ansari: "You will see a man from my family whose name is my name, his behavior and actions are my behavior and actions, and he penetrates knowledge to its depths."

...Imam Sadiq (a.s.) narrated this event in a long narration, parts of which are narrated here:

“One year Hisham came to Mecca to perform Hajj rituals. Imam Baqir and Imam Sadiq (peace be upon them) were also present in Mecca that year. Imam Sadiq (a.s.) said:

“Thanks be to God who chose Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as a prophet and honored us through him. So we are the chosen ones of God from among His creation and the successors appointed by Him. prosperous is the one who follows us and miserable is the one who considers us as an enemy and opposes us”.[1]

This news reached Hisham and he remained silent until he went to Damascus. After he entered Damascus, he sent a courier to the governor of Medina and asked him to send Imam Baqir and Imam Sadiq (peace be upon them) to Damascus. These two Imams went to Damascus. In order to humiliate, Hisham delayed the visit for three days and accepted them on the fourth day. In that assembly, which was attended by many men and personalities from Quraysh, he asked Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) - who was older than him - to participate in the archery competition. At first, the Imam refused to accept it on the pretext of old age. But Hisham insisted on his request. Imam took a bow and shoot the first arrow at the target and shoot the next arrows one after the other up to nine arrows.

Hisham, who was greatly surprised, said:

 “I don't think anyone on earth can shoot better than this”...
