In Islamic culture, Salat plays a key role in daily life style and it affects Muslims in different ways. In this article, we are going to get familiar with three amazing facts about prayer.

Prayer and privacy time

The Holy Quran recommended the teenagers who have not reached puberty to ask for permission while entering their parents room at three times. Interestingly, these times are harmonized with the time of prayers. Before the dawn prayer, when you put aside your clothing (for rest) at noon and after the night prayer. (1)

Prayer does away with misdeeds

The Holy Quran says:

And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who remember.(2)

Imam Ali says:

"performing tow rakat of salat and asking Allah for forgiveness will eliminate the effects of the sin."(3)

Therefore, the sins which are committed because of the negligence of Allah are forgiven with performing Salat which brings the remembrance of Allah in heart.

Gradual teaching method

In Islamic traditions, Muslims are recommended to teach the religious pracitces to their children step by step. For example, they advise to start teaching from the age of 3 by teaching the phrase (there is no God but Allah)

After 3 years and half month and 20 days the second phrase should be taught to children: (Muhammad is the messenger of God)

When the children reach 4, you should teach him how to confer blessing (Salavat) to the Prophet and his household.

At the age of 5, you should direct him to Kaaba and teach him how to prostrate.  At 6, child should know how to perform prayer. At the age of 7, you should teach wodo( ablution).(4)

As you can see, the gradual teaching of religious practice is a strategy which is explained through the Salat teaching and it can also be applied to other types religious practice.
