Time and life are undoubtedly the most valuable possessions of man; because it can never be returned and cannot be reproduced.

For this reason, God refers to priods of time in verses of the Holy Qur'an, and in some cases he swears by time.[1]

The oaths of the Qur'an in terms of time are always in accordance with the subject for which the oath is recited, and it is certain that human losses in life are the result of the passage of time in their lives.[2]

It is also mentioned in a narration of the Prophet of Islam, peace and blessings of God be upon him, that a person should be stingier about his lifetime than Dirhams and Dinars.[3]

The advice to be stingy about time shows that time is the most valuable asset in life. Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) also considered punctuality and conscientiousness among the characteristics of a wise person

Time bandits

The first and most important duty of a Muslim towards his time is to protect it from bandits and thieves. Time is the pure gold of life. Therefore, thieves such as sleeping too much, talkativeness, non-essential conversations, disorganization, lack of planning, wrong habits, inappropriate questions, not consulting with experts, gambling, fake entertainment, etc. are lurking in this pure gold.[4]
