-One of the characteristics of Lady Masuma (s), who can be a role model for women, is (the manifestation of a woman's character with an Islamic identity), because there have been two approaches in defining and interpreting the character of a woman.

One of the characteristics of Lady Masuma (s), who can be a role model for women, is (the manifestation of a woman's character with an Islamic identity). Because there have been two approaches in defining and interpreting the character of a woman:

  1. The petrifying definition and interpretation of a woman's character:

The closed and petrified opinion is that women were created for reproduction in the system of existence. She does not have social rights and should not leave the four walls of the house.

  1. The definition and Interpretation of a Woman's Character due to liberal thinking:

This definition and interpretation is influenced by the reading of the liberals. Which is that a free woman is complete and can appear in the public places up to the point of nudity.

  1. The definition and Interpretation of Fatima Masuma of the Women Character:

With her Islamic personality, Lady Masuma has put a third interpretation of the woman's identity in front of everyone. That is a woman deserves to be a lady. Her presence in the community should not harm her chastity in any way. High charachter and chastity prevent her from being impersonal in the community. A woman should appear in the society in such a way that her personality becomes the focus of men's attention not her female physical attractions. Also she should pay attention to men's personality, not men's physical body. That is why Lady Zahra (s) in response to the same question about the characteristics of a chaste woman, said: “The best woman is a woman who does not see men and men do not see her”.[1]

Fatima Masuma is the same Islamic female character who, at the age of twenty-eight, traveled a thousand kilometers from Medina to Tus with a caravan of men to join the Imam of her time.  This had a message that a woman can be social at the same time of being chaste and veiled. She can be social while being veiled and chaste.

That is why Imam Sadiq (a.s.) said in describing Fatima Masuma (a.s.):

“God has a shrine which is Mecca, the Prophet has a shrine which is Madinah and Hazrat Ali (AS) has a shrine which is Kufa. Qom is our shrine. It is a small Kufa which three of the 8 doors of heaven open to Qom. A woman from my children dies in Qom. Her name is Fatima, the daughter of Musa (PBUH). Through her intercession, all my followers will enter heaven”.[2]
