Martyrdom of Fatima Zahra (s) -1

Martyrdom of Fatima Zahra (s):

Hazrat Fatima Zahra (pbuh), the daughter of the Prophet of Islam (pbuh) and Khadijah Kubra (pbuh), after the death of her honorable father, was martyred on the third date of Jumadi al-Thani in the year 11 AH, at the age of 18 years.[1]

The martyrdom of Hazrat Fatima (PBUH) is one of the saddest events in the history of Islam. This incident was the result of the oppression of some of the Prophet's companions.

Events before martyrdom:

After the death of the Prophet (pbuh), a group of companions, without consulting the Prophet's (pbuh) family, chose Abu Bakr as the first caliph. This action was strongly opposed by Hazrat Ali (a.s.) and other members of the Prophet's (s) family.

Hazrat Fatima (pbuh) was also strongly against this action and believed that the right of caliphate belonged to Hazrat Ali (pbuh). In her speeches, she protested against this issue and invited people to follow Hazrat Ali (AS).

Attack on Fatima Zahra's house:

On one of the days, a group of Companions, led by Umar Bin Khattab, stormed the house of Hazrat Fatimah (PBUH) to force Imam Ali (a.s) to pledge allegiance to Abu Bakr. In this attack, Hazrat Fatima (PBUH) was injured in the head and chest, and her fetus named "Mohsen" was aborted.[2], [3], [4]
