Yazid attacked the Kaaba and broke its sanctity by burning its curtains. On the other hand, Ibn Zubayr also broke the sanctity of the Kaaba because he prevented the fire of the Kaaba from being extinguished. Imam Hussain (a.s), left the Hajj ceremony incomplete, because he did not want a battle to break out in Mecca to break the sanctity of the Kaaba.
